Our Top Tips – Finding the Perfect Uniform

We’ve collated some top tips for retailers on how to assist parents in finding the correct sizes and styles for their children.

Before you start!

Ensure that you know each school uniform policy – think about how many logo-embroidered pieces each parent will need and if there are any specifics.

Make sure there’s room for growth

It’s no surprise to any of us that students grow quickly! That’s why we make sure our school uniform includes room to grow hems and elasticated waistbands. Plus, ensuring that children have room to grow means parents can save money too.

How to correctly measure

Ensure that children are always barefoot with their backs to the wall – they need to stand up straight to get the most accurate measurement. When measuring for shirts, ensure you’re notwrapping the tape too tightly, as they will want some wriggle room.

The only time children should be wearing shoes through the measurement process is when they’re looking for trousers, in this case, make sure they are wearing their school shoes to ensure the perfect fitting pair.

The smaller details

When it comes to active kids, we should ensure that design details suit their personalities. Look to trousers that have details such as reinforced knees, this way their trousers last twice as long, even after everyday wear.

For younger children, look for a school uniform that helps them feel comfortable all day long and ensures that they can get dressed themselves. We believe that uniforms that include elasticated waistbands make all the difference.

Catering for all children is important and that’s why looking for pieces that cater for children with sensory needs is fundamental. Look to uniforms that have easy fastenings and kind-to-skin fabrics, ensuring that there isn’t anything such as scratchy labels that irritate them.

We hope these top tips will help you guide parents when finding the perfect fit and style of school uniforms.
